Lofty Master Class · Beginner's Guide
Your Complete Beginner's Guide to Lofty CRM
A practical walkthrough for real estate agents who are brand new to Lofty — what the platform does, the steps to set it up, and where agents typically get stuck.
What is Lofty?
Lofty (formerly Chime) is an all-in-one platform built for real estate agents and teams. Instead of stitching together a CRM, a website, and a half-dozen marketing tools, Lofty bundles the core systems an agent needs into one login.
CRM & Lead Management
Capture every inquiry, track every conversation, and pipeline leads from first touch to closed deal.
IDX Website
An agent-branded MLS-connected website that captures leads directly into your CRM.
Smart Plan Automations
Drip emails, texts, and tasks that fire automatically based on lead behavior and stage.
Built-in Dialer
Call leads from inside Lofty, log activity automatically, and run power-dial sessions.
AI Assistant
Lofty's AI helps qualify leads, write follow-ups, and surface who you should call today.
One Source of Truth
Your website, leads, conversations, and marketing all live in the same system.
Your First Steps in Lofty
Do these four things in order. Most agents who skip ahead end up redoing this work later.
- 1
Set up your profile & team
Complete your agent profile, email signature, business hours, and notification settings. If you're on a team, add members and configure round-robin lead routing now — not later.
- 2
Import your leads & database
Bring your existing contacts in via CSV from your previous CRM, Google Contacts, or Sphere. Tag everyone (Sphere, Past Client, Buyer Lead, Seller Lead) before you turn on automation so your smart plans can target the right people.
- 3
Connect your website & domain
Activate your Lofty IDX site, set up your custom domain, and confirm that test leads from your site land in your CRM. This is the step most agents underestimate — your site is your top lead source.
- 4
Launch your first smart plan
Pick one lead source (your website) and one outcome (new buyer lead nurture). Build a single smart plan with email, text, and a task. Watch it run for a week, then refine. Don't try to automate everything on day one.
Common Beginner Pitfalls
Here's the truth most agents discover the hard way: the friction with Lofty isn't real estate — it's platform plumbing. The little settings, integrations, and routing rules trip up almost every new user.
Importing leads before tagging them
Once 3,000 contacts are in with no tags, segmenting them later is painful. Tag on import.
Turning on every smart plan at once
Overlapping plans send three texts and four emails the same day. Start with one plan, watch it, then layer more.
Not connecting your IDX domain correctly
Misconfigured DNS or a forgotten redirect can silently drop SEO and lead capture. Verify with a real test lead.
Ignoring lead routing rules
If you're on a team, the difference between leads going to the right agent and leads going nowhere is one settings page.
Treating the AI as autopilot
The AI assistant is a great copilot, not a substitute for picking up the phone. Use it to prioritize, not replace, your calls.
Skipping the dialer setup
A2P registration and caller ID setup take 15 minutes and save weeks of "why aren't my texts delivering?" later.
