How to Use Lofty CRM: A First-Week Tutorial
The usual first day with Lofty goes like this: open it, click around, close the tab. This page is the first week we walk agents through at the Lofty Master Class: one setup day, one import, one daily habit, one Smart Plan, one website connection. Work it in order and by the weekend you will have a system running.
How do you use Lofty CRM?
To use Lofty CRM, set up your profile and pipelines on day one, import your contacts second, then work the system twenty minutes a day: new leads first, follow-ups next, one Smart Plan check last. Add your first Smart Plan and connect your IDX website within the first week. The daily rhythm does the rest.
Here is each step in the order we teach it.
Step 1: What do you set up on day one?
Three things: your profile, your seat, and your pipelines.
Your profile first, because every email and text Lofty sends carries it. Photo, direct phone number, email signature. A blank profile makes automated follow-up read like spam from a stranger.
Your seat next. Log in as yourself, on your own seat, so every call, note, and task lands under your name. On a team account, confirm with your admin which leads route to you before you touch anything else.
Pipelines last. Rename the deal stages so they match how you talk about your business out loud. Five stages you understand beat twelve you ignore. You can refine them later; today they only need to be yours.
Step 2: How do you import your contacts into Lofty?
Get everyone into one spreadsheet: name, email, phone. Pull from your phone, your old CRM, and whatever spreadsheet has been quietly holding your database since two phones ago. Lofty's setup flow takes the file from there.
Two rules from watching imports go sideways at the live classes. First, tag the batch on the way in (something like
import-aug-2026) so you can find, filter, and fix that group later. Second, import the people who know you before any cold list. Your first Smart Plan will run against these contacts, and warm names forgive a clumsy first message.Step 3: What is the 20-minute daily rhythm?
This step is the whole ballgame. Twenty minutes, same time every day:
New leads first.
Anyone who came in since yesterday gets a call or a text. Speed matters more here than polish.
Follow-ups second.
Work today's task list. Lofty queued it for you; your job is to clear it.
One Smart Plan check last.
Two minutes: is it running, did anyone reply, does one message need a human answer.
This rhythm is pillar four of the Area Authority Method, the daily-practice habit that feeds every other part of the method. Skip it and Lofty becomes an expensive address book. Keep it and the software starts earning its bill.
Step 4: How do you set up your first Smart Plan?
A Smart Plan strings emails, texts, and tasks together on a schedule, so follow-up happens whether or not you remembered to do it.
Build one, for new leads. Start from Lofty's Smart Plan Library, then rewrite the messages so they sound like you. Read each one out loud before you save it. If you would not say the sentence to a buyer standing in your office, change it.
Then let it run for a full week before you build a second. One plan you watch teaches you more than six you launch and forget. Members of our community load the Company Smart Plans we run ourselves, which skips the blank-page problem entirely.
Step 5: How do you connect your IDX website?
Your Lofty site shows live listings through an IDX feed, and the data agreement runs through your MLS board: both you and your broker sign it, and the board reviews it on its own timeline. Start that paperwork early in the week.
Once the feed is live, do three checks. Open your site on your phone, since that is where your leads will see it. Put your face and your market on the homepage. Then register on your own site as a test lead and watch what happens inside the CRM. That one exercise shows you what a real buyer experiences, and it proves your new-lead routing works before a stranger tests it for you.
Where do agents get stuck?
Three places, over and over: imports that went in without tags, Smart Plans multiplying before the first one works, and the daily rhythm quietly dying by Thursday.
Every one of those is the kind of thing a screen-share untangles fast, which is what the live sessions are for. Wednesday and Saturday, every week, free. Bring your screen and your stuck point and we will work it live.
Common questions
Is Lofty the same as Chime?
Yes. Lofty was formerly Chime; the rebrand happened over a year ago. Same platform, same CRM underneath, new name.
Do I have to finish all five steps in week one?
No. Profile, import, and the daily rhythm carry most of the weight. The Smart Plan and the IDX site can slide into week two without hurting you. The rhythm cannot.
What if I don't have Lofty yet?
You can start through our partner door. Start Lofty through our link and you get three things on top of the CRM: our Company Smart Plans, a one on one coaching and onboarding call, and lifetime access to the Lofty Mastery Group, the Saturday workshop archive that is normally $21.34 a month. The Lofty CRM overview covers who it fits before you commit.
Your next step
Two doors, both free. Join the community, where 2,000+ agents run this same playbook and the live classes meet Wednesday and Saturday. And if you want to know where your setup stands today, run the Health Check: a few minutes, and you will see exactly which step above deserves your attention first.
Lofty pays off as a habit, not a purchase. Week one is where the habit starts.
