    Lofty vs Follow Up Boss

Lofty vs Follow Up Boss: The 2026 Comparison

Lofty vs Follow Up Boss comes up in our live classes every week, and the answer depends on one thing: how much of your business you want one system to run. Here is the comparison we give our own community, with pricing and scope pulled from both companies' sites this month.

What is the difference between Lofty and Follow Up Boss?

Follow Up Boss is a dedicated real estate CRM built to connect with 250+ outside tools, including your existing website and lead sources. Lofty is an all-in-one platform that bundles the CRM with an IDX website, paid advertising, a dialer, and AI. One is a hub for your stack; the other is the stack.

Follow Up Boss calls itself “The Real Estate Team OS” and leans hard into being an open platform: bring your own website, your own lead sources, your own dialer if you want one, and FUB sits in the middle keeping every lead and conversation organized. Lofty describes itself as an “agentic AI Operating System” for agents, teams, and brokers, and it ships the whole toolkit in one login: CRM, IDX website, Google and Facebook and Microsoft ad campaigns, a power dialer, Smart Plan automations, transaction management, and a set of AI agents that work leads around the clock.

How do the pricing models differ?

Follow Up Boss publishes every number. Grow runs $69 per user per month, or $58 billed annually, with calling as a $39 per user add-on. Pro is $499 per month for 10 users ($416 annual). Platform is $1,000 per month for 30 users ($833 annual). There is a 14-day free trial.

Lofty does not publish pricing. It sells four tiers (Agent, Team, Broker, Enterprise), and its pricing page says cost varies by platform package, seat count, optional upgrades, and lead-gen programs. You get a number by booking a demo. That difference is structural: FUB sells a CRM seat, while Lofty sells a bundle where the website and ad management replace line items you would otherwise buy separately. Compare the full stack cost on both sides before you decide.

One ownership fact worth knowing: Zillow Group has owned Follow Up Boss since December 2023, running it as an independent brand. Lofty is the platform formerly known as Chime; the product carried over with the rebrand.

    Which one will fit you?

    Choose Follow Up Boss if:

    • You already own a website, lead sources, and tools you like, and you want the CRM to connect them all.
    • You want to read the full price on a public page before you ever talk to sales.
    • Your agents resist new software and you need the shortest possible learning curve.
    • You would rather assemble a best-of-breed stack piece by piece.

    Choose Lofty if:

    • You want the website, CRM, ads, dialer, and AI under one login and one bill.
    • You want your paid lead generation and your follow-up living in the same system.
    • You plan to build long-term search traffic on a site you control. That is the whole Area Authority Method.
    • You (or a partner) will invest real setup time. Lofty rewards configuration.

    FAQ

Which is cheaper, Lofty or Follow Up Boss?

Follow Up Boss publishes its pricing: solo agents start at $69 per user per month, or $58 billed annually. Lofty does not publish pricing, and quotes vary by package, seats, and lead-gen spend. The only real comparison is a Lofty quote stacked against FUB plus the website, dialer, and ad tools you would buy separately.

Can I switch from Follow Up Boss to Lofty?

Yes. The usual path is exporting your contacts, notes, and tags from Follow Up Boss and importing them into Lofty. Automations do not transfer, and that is true of any CRM move: plan to rebuild your action plans as Lofty Smart Plans, keep both systems live for a short overlap, and repoint your lead sources last. Our live classes cover setup from day one.

    Which is better for teams?

Both were built for teams. Follow Up Boss prices team plans directly (Pro covers 10 users, Platform covers 30) and says 36 of the 50 highest-volume teams in the US use it. Lofty sells dedicated Team and Broker tiers with the website, advertising, and CRM bundled per team. If you want one accountable system, that points to Lofty; if your stack is already built and working, FUB stays at the center.
